  • * Patricia McConnell has excellent pet behavior books that help you understand how to train your pet. One of these books is Fastidious Feline, the how to book for everything related to your cat's litter box habits. Another is Puppy Primer, a great book to get you started right with your new puppy. We find her books so helpful that we have several of them available for purchase at the animal hospital and use them as part of our staff training!

  • Golden Rule Dog Training  The agility (what fun!) training school that is at the Earlysville Animal Hospital. Expert trainers. Positive training methods used.

  • * Behavior problems  Founded by Brian Kilcommons and Sharon Wilson, best-selling authors and recognized experts on animal training and behavior, this site is a terrific resource for advice on a variety of behavioral problems. If you want to learn more about feline housesoiling, barking dogs, aggression, or any other behavioral problem, check this one out!

  • Stop Canine Obesity This is a great website that discusses the causes of obesity in dogs
  • NCSU Cancer Center This oncology website has information about common cancers in dogs and cats as well as information about NCSU in Raleigh. We have referred patients to this cancer center for evaluation and treatment. They are truly experts in cancer therapy.
  • * Virginia Veterinary Dentistry This site is full of excellent information about taking care of your pet's teeth.
  • National Animal Poison Control Center
    This is the website of the National Animal Poison Control Center. It includes a library, links to other sites, and phone numbers for the poison control center.
  • The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA)
    The Cat Fanciers' Association website has lots of pictures, as well as information on cat breeds, cat care, upcoming cat shows, and much more.
  • Veterinary Schools in the US  This is a great link to all of the websites of veterinary schools in the United States.
  • USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service
    The USDA maintains this website with information on a variety of animal health related topics, including the latest news on such things as Mad Cow Diseases, foot and mouth disease, and many other things.

    This site is sponsored by Novartis, the makers of Sentinel, Interceptor and Program, and has useful information on heartworm prevention and flea control for pet owners.
