• * http://indoorpet.osu.edu/ Ohio State University's veterinary school launched the Indoor Cat Initiative several years ago to help veterinarians and pet owners prevent and treat disease for cat patients be enrichining the lives of cats. Now they have added helping dogs to their mission. Our pets need a wellness plan that includes physical activity, mental stimulation, a consistent daily routine, and stress reduction as well as good nutrition and preventative medicine.

• * Clicker Training Join us in promoting positive training by learning about clicker training! This is not only an effective training tool, but fun for pets and owners both.
• * Patricia McConnell has excellent pet behavior books that help you understand how to train your pet. One of these books is Fastidious Feline, the how to book for everything related to your cat's litter box habits. Another is Puppy Primer, a great book to get you started right with your new puppy. We find her books so helpful that we have several of them available for purchase at the animal hospital and use them as part of our staff training!
• Puppy Prodigies  - Unique training for very young puppies - a great site for all pet breeders.
• A Kid's Guide to Dog Care This site is really for everyone! It has lots of great informatioon about how to love your dog!
 
• * Dog Wise - This website is a virtual bookstore for positive training.
• Heartworm Society    Everything you ever wanted to know about heartworm disease can be found here! This includes new information about heartworm disease in cats.
• Dog Star Daily  Great positive dog training site from Dr. Ian Dunbar
• Golden Rule Dog Training  The agility (what fun!) training school that is at the Earlysville Animal Hospital. Expert trainers. Positive training methods used.
• * Canine Campus The dog training school once was in Earlysville across from the fire station. This school has moved to Charlottesville - it still has expert pet trainers. Positive training methods used.
• * Good Dog Training Certified pet trainer, Tara McLaughlin's training school. Tara will come to your house and work with you and your pet one on one. Expert pet trainer. Positive training methods used. This website has lots of great information.

• * Behavior problems  Founded by Brian Kilcommons and Sharon Wilson, best-selling authors and recognized experts on animal training and behavior, this site is a terrific resource for advice on a variety of behavioral problems. If you want to learn more about feline housesoiling, barking dogs, aggression, or any other behavioral problem, check this one out!  
• * Behavior videos There are many videos here that demonstrate techniques that help with many behavior problems dogs can have, including pulling on the leash, bad manners at the veterinary clinic, and barking at the door.
• Stop Canine Obesity This is a great website that discusses the causes of obesity in dogs
• NCSU Cancer Center This oncology website has information about common cancers in dogs and cats as well as information about NCSU in Raleigh. We have referred patients to this cancer center for evaluation and treatment. They are truly experts in cancer therapy.
• * Virginia Veterinary Dentistry This site is full of excellent information about taking care of your pet's teeth.
• National Animal Poison Control Center
  This is the website of the National Animal Poison Control Center. It includes a library, links to other sites, and phone numbers for the poison control center.
• The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA)
  The Cat Fanciers' Association website has lots of pictures, as well as information on cat breeds, cat care, upcoming cat shows, and much more.
• Veterinary Schools in the US  This is a great link to all of the websites of veterinary schools in the United States.
• USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service
  The USDA maintains this website with information on a variety of animal health related topics, including the latest news on such things as Mad Cow Diseases, foot and mouth disease, and many other things. 
• Novartis Animal Health
  This site is sponsored by Novartis, the makers of Sentinel, Interceptor and Program, and has useful information on heartworm prevention and flea control for pet owners.

  Anyone who has ever lost a pet should visit this wonderful site. It is a terrific tribute to our lost family members
• West Nile VirusThis site is maintained by the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, and has the latest information on the spread of West Nile Virus in the US, as well as information on disease transmission, symptoms, etc.
