Kelley Shifflett — Hospital Manager
A native of Albemarle County, Kelley has been with Earlysville Animal Hospital since June 1993 and is our Hospital Manager.
Kelley lives in Boonesville with her husband, Stan, and their son, Logan. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Catherine Bega, LVT — Veterinary Technician
Catherine has been a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) since she graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 1988. She has been a member of the Earlysville Animal Hospital staff since October 2000, and is the head of our LVT team.
Catherine has a beagle named Daisy and a cat named Goldilocks. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Leslie Cook, LVT — Veterinary Technician
Leslie moved to Charlottesville in 2000 after graduating from Georgetown University with an undergraduate degree in English. She worked for two years in a small animal practice in Charlottesville, then spent two years working in an administrative position in an equine clinic. Leslie attended Blue Ridge Community College to become a licensed veterinary technician and started working here right after graduation in April 2006.
She has two dogs, one cat, many chickens, miniature goats, one riding horse, and dairy goats. Leslie enjoys spending her free time riding and going for hikes with her dogs and family. Leslie lives in Earlysville with her husband, Jimmy, and two young daughters, and is happy to have found such a wonderful place to work so close to home.
Ashley Gaines, LVT — Veterinary Technician
Ashley graduated from Blue Ridge Community College's Veterinary Technology program in 2016. After working as an assistant for three years, she is now a licensed veterinary technician. Ashley joined the Earlysville Animal Hospital team soon after graduation. She plans on completing the Fear Free certification in the near future.
At home, Ashley has two Pitbull Terrier mixes named Prince and Athena and a cat named Maddox. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Deb Piereman, LVT — Veterinary Technician
Deb has been a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) for 14 years and has done a lot of volunteer work for pet rescue organizations. She loves petsitting, riding her horse, her two labradors, sewing, and being a grandmother of two.
Deb thinks the best thing about working at Earlysville Animal Hospital is the excellent quality of care we give to the clients and their pets, going above and beyond. She loves that she has made some great friends, not only with the EAH employees but our clients as well.
Miranda Shifflett, CVA — Veterinary Assistant
Miranda is a lifetime resident of Greene County. She loves helping animals and is a great advocate for excellent pet care. She lives on a farm with a horse, cattle, and two dogs, Tasha and Tacoma.
Miranda has a young son attending school in Greene County. She has worked in the veterinary field for 12 years!
Elizabeth Cowgill — Veterinary Assistant
Elizabeth joined Earlysville Animal Hospital February 2017. She has been working in the veterinary field for 10 years. She has a strong passion for rabbits. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and learning about rabbits, baking delicious sweet treats, and hanging out with her cats, Louie, Fin, and Pearl and her sweet beagle, Champ.
Abigail Bowman Stuchlik — Veterinary Assistant
Abby recently rejoined our staff and we are happy to have her back. She currently resides in Madison County with her husband Richard and dog Jeremiah. She is enrolled at Ashworth College, to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. When Abby is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, friends and Jeremiah.
Katya Grant — Veterinary Assistant
Katya was born in Pskov, Russia and came to America when she was 3 years old. She joined our staff after being an intern student for a year in 2009.
In her free time, Katya enjoys being with her friends and family. Her second job is pet-sitting. She lives in Earlysville and has a cat named Kittles.
Dawn Lapp — Veterinary Assistant
Dawn joined the Earlysville family in July of 2017. She graduated from Nelson County High School and has had a passion for all animals her whole life. When Dawn was 16 years old, a mentor taught her how to groom dogs. Previously, she has worked as a dog trainer in Colorado where she and her husband raised a family, until moving back to Virginia to be near family.
In her spare time Dawn enjoys hiking, biking, running and playing with her puppies, Kodiak, a German Shepard and Dakota, a Great Pyrenese/Bernese mix.
Melody Billups — Veterinary Receptionist
Melody has been a veterinary receptionist at Earlysville Animal Hospital since November 2008. She has lived in Greene County all her life. She lives with her husband and six little dogs.
When not working, Melody enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as watching and attending Nascar races.
Debie Phillips — Veterinary Receptionist
Debie moved to Virginia in 2001 with her three daughters. She joined our front office team in September 2015.
In her free time, Debie enjoys volunteering in our community and snuggling with her two pugs, Rufus and Beau.
Jessica Townsend, CVA — Veterinary Receptionist
Born and raised in Dyke, Jessica was home schooled from fourth grade through high school graduation. She joined our staff in May 2004 and graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program through Blue Ridge Community College. Jessica has also completed Fear Free certification, a program that teaches veterinary professionals how to lower pets' fear, anxiety and stress during visits.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys painting, writing and spending time with family. She currently shares her home with a cat named Molly and a mixed-breed dog named Nikki.
Claire Minter — Veterinary Receptionist
Claire was born in Virginia Beach and raised in Fluvanna County. She moved to Colorado in 2012 while her husband served in the US Army at Fort Carson for three years and was deployed to Kuwait. She and her husband are happy to be planting their roots here in Earlysville where they live with their two dogs - Tucker, a chocolate labrador, and Hoyt, a Boston terrier/shih tzu mix. Outisde of work, Claire loves spending time with her husband and friends and watching movies. She also enjoys spending time with the youth group and singing at Nortonsville Church of God.
